Two suspicious fires set in Castlegar, B.C.

Two fires happening back to back in Castlegar, B.C. last night are being treated as suspicious and are under investigation.

Shortly before 11 p.m. last night, Castlegar RCMP and Fire Department responded to one fire involving a parked van that was engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the Kinnaird Community Church. The second fire involved the main building of the St. Ritas Catholic church, which destroyed the main church structure.

No one was hurt in either of the fires and both blazes are under investigation by the fire department. Anyone with any information about the fires should contact the Castlegar RCMP.
