After forcing a game seven with a convincing 6 – 1 victory over the Trail Smoke Eaters Saturday, the Penticton Vees playoff run came down to just one game.

The Vees played their hearts out but the bounces just didn’t go their way. It was Trail who seemed to have all the puck luck.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The Smoke Eaters capitalized on several Vees mistakes including a bench minor for too many men on the ice, going on to defeat the Vees in the final game of the series 4 – 2.

Pentction Vees Coach Fred Harbinson was proud of the way his players never quit throughout the game but had to hand it to the Smoke Eaters.

“They’re a great story, from ownership to coaching staff, their players have to be real proud, their fan base has to be real proud of what they have done” said Harbinson.
