UPDATE: The Ministry of Transportation has issued the following statement regarding the washout.

The eastbound lane was affected and traffic control is in place. One lane remains open to traffic through this area, and drivers should continue to slow down and use caution. Drivers are being told to drive at their own risk after a part of Mabel Lake Road gave way.
According to Frontline Traffic Control’s Facebook page, the slide happened about four kilometres past the store in Enderby and driving is not recommended at this time.
The company said the road is unstable and could give-way at any time but also said it’s open to single lane traffic.
The drop is about 300 feet.
DriveBC said that no vehicles over 10,000 kg can drive past the Mabel Lake-Trinity junction until further notice.
