A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Lindsay late Monday afternoon.
City of Kawartha Lakes Police say around 4:45 p.m. a pedestrian was attempting to walk across Kent Street West when they were struck by a vehicle that was reversing from an angled parking spot.
The victim was rushed to Ross Memorial Hospital but died of their injuries.
The section of Kent Street was closed for more than four hours as police investigated and received assistance from the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Unit.
“The name of the deceased is not being released at this time as investigators are still attempting to speak with their next of kin,” police stated.

Police have identified the victim as 68-year-old Christine Hewitt of Lindsay.
