It was a cold and dry winter in Regina. Temperatures dipped below -30 degrees Celsius fifteen-times and the city only had 56 per cent of the normal snowfall.
The average temperature this winter season was -14.2 degrees, that’s 1.3 degrees below the climate normal and 2 degrees colder than last year.

The coldest Regina dipped to this winter was -36.2 C on December 30, and it felt like -45 with wind chill.
The mercury dropped below -30 C fifteen-times in the city this winter season
Only a trace of snow could be seen on the ground in Regina throughout December and January, with a 3 centimetre snow-depth for parts of February. The average snow we should have on the ground for those months is 9-15 cm.
March is off to a wet start with 35 cm falling at the beginning of the month. However, March 1 is the beginning of the spring season for meteorologists and winter consists of the three coldest months of the year; December, January and February.
The Queen City started off the new year in an extreme drought. Last year was the second driest year ever recorded in Regina with 61 per cent less moisture than normal.
