Five arrested following three-month cocaine investigation in Peterborough area
Five men have been arrested in connection to a three-month joint police investigation into illegal cocaine trafficking in the Peterborough area.
The investigation – conducted between Peterborough County OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit and the Peterborough Police Service Intelligence-Crime Analyst-Asset Forfeiture and Drug Unit – led to the arrest of four from the Peterborough area and one from the GTA.
Police say they face “various drug-related and drug trafficking related offences.”
Following the arrests, police executed five search warrants – two in Peterborough, two in Peterborough County and one in Toronto. Officers seized four vehicles, a high-end watch, Canadian currency and “a significant amount” of cocaine and prescription drugs.
“That were no doubt destined for area streets,” stated Sgt. Peter Leon of the drugs seized.
However, police have not released any names or details of the arrests as the investigation continues.
“Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, exact locations and specific details are being omitted in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” said Leon.
“Further details will be provided only as the investigation permits.”
