Personal: Born in Regina and raised in northern Saskatchewan (La Loche, Green Lake, Meadow Lake, La Ronge) and Saskatoon. Former health policy manager for the Saskatchewan Medical Association and policy analyst with Saskatchewan Culture, Youth and Recreation. Married to Ruth. Two daughters, Ingrid and Clara.

Did you know: Broten spent eight seasons as a tree planter. 

Education: Bachelor in international studies, University of Saskatchewan. Master in political science, Simon Fraser University. 

Politics: First elected in Saskatoon Massey Place in 2007. Re-elected in 2011. Currently serves as the Opposition critic for health, seniors, advanced education, employment and immigration. 

Quote: “We know we have a lot of work to do. You don’t go from government to 20 seats to nine seats by doing everything right, so I recognize we have a tremendous amount of work to do.”

Personal: Born in Moose Jaw and raised on a farm near Courval, in southwest Saskatchewan. Family doctor, assistant professor and author. Married to Mahli, who is training to be a pediatrician. One son, 18-month-old Abraham.

Did you know: Meili has worked in South America and Africa. 

Education: University of Saskatchewan 

Politics: Never elected. Ran for the Saskatchewan NDP leadership in 2009 and came in second to Dwain Lingenfelter.

I think it’s been a chance say ‘Here’s a better approach, here’s a better vision, here’s a way that we can excite and inspire people.”

Age: 33 

Personal: Born and raised in Regina. Former high school teacher.  Married to Stephanie, a school teacher.

Did you know: Wotherspoon worked with high-risk young offenders on a mentorship program to help them stay out of trouble. 

Education: Bachelor of Education, University of Regina. 

Politics: First elected in the constituency of Regina Rosemont in 2007. Re-elected in 2011. Currently the Opposition critic for finance, education, SaskPower, the Information Technology Office and the Global Transportation Hub. 

Quote:  “We have a proud history as a party. We’re also not perfect, but we need to be clear in our focus on issues and opportunities today. But a clear focus on the future and that allows us to once again be relevant in the lives of Saskatchewan people.”
