Winnipeg police want your help identifying some men that may have witnessed a serious assault in January.
Not long after midnight Jan. 7, police were called to the scene of an assault near a bar on Corydon Avenue.
Police said the bar was not connected in any way to the assault.
Two men were sent to hospital in critical condition. Both have since been released.
“Investigators are moving forward in a complex investigation. We know there are some people out there that we’d like to talk to that would help fill in some of the blanks,” explained Const. Rob Carver.
“These are people who may simply be able to provide us with some information, we hope. That’s our thought.”
Carver could not say if investigators have their sights set on any suspect, but he stressed that these six men are not suspects.
“We’re hoping to make some connection where we can try and talk to them. It’s usually the end of an investigate strategy for us,” Carver said. “They’re not in trouble, we’re just hoping to get names to faces. Investigators are still looking for bits and pieces of this puzzle.”
If you recognize any of the men, police want you to call them at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers.
