A head-on crash on Highway 11 in Bathurst, N.B., has claimed the lives of two people.
RCMP say the collision between two pickup trucks happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A 31-year-old man from Pointe-Verte who was driving the southbound truck and a 47-year-old woman from Grande-Anse who was a passenger in the northbound truck died at the scene.
Two passengers in the southbound truck and the driver of the northbound truck were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours as emergency crews attended the scene.
RCMP say slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor in the collision, and their investigation continues.
