Woman injured after assault in East Preston: RCMP

RCMP are investigating after a woman was assaulted in East Preston, N.S., on Monday evening.

Police were called to Brian Street shortly after 6 p.m., after receiving a report that a woman was assaulted with a weapon while leaving a friend’s home. Police say the victim’s friend found the woman bleeding and yelled to his wife to call 911.

The man provided first aid to the woman while they waited for EHS to arrive.

The victim’s injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.

Police have not released what type of weapon the woman was assaulted with or a description of any suspects.
