Driving over the speed limit in a municipality or against a highway sign nets a fine of anywhere between $138 and $196.

This is far from the first time that police have caught a luxury car driver for excessive speeding.

Earlier this year, the Delta police impounded a rented 2015 Lamborghini Huracan after it was caught going 155 km/h on Highway 99.

The driver, a 20-year-old California man, had to pay rental fees of about US$1,000 per day, alongside the impound charges.
