Halifax man facing charges in Bedford Highway road rage incident

A 43-year-old man from Halifax is facing charges for allegedly threatening another man with a knife during an episode of road rage on Sunday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police said they were called to the area of Skylark Street and Melody Drive around 12:30 p.m.

They say the victim was travelling north along the Bedford Highway when he honked his horn at another vehicle that was merging towards him.

When the two vehicles turned onto Melody Drive, one of the drivers allegedly got out and threatened the other driver while holding a knife.

Police were able to locate the vehicle at the intersection of Flamingo Drive and Skylark Street where the suspect was taken into custody.

He has since been released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
