Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and her struggling Liberal government released their Long-Term Energy Plan Thursday.
In it, they try to validate the doubling of your electricity bills in the last decade, attempting to fix the “mistakes” they have made or at least make it look like they are doing something.
Way too little, too late.
They also admitted your bill will rise another 43 per cent in the next decade after their pre-election refinance discount scheme runs out in a couple of years.
By that time a lot of their technology will be outdated. Just ask the people who were building wind turbines in Tillsonberg at a plant now closed.
Wynne defended her shell game saying people wanted relief from high electricity bills.
Yes, we did! But that meant scrapping a bad idea, not doubling down and refinancing it like a bad Christmas credit card debt and pushing it off to the next generation.
“This plan is the product of the most extensive consultations and engagements my ministry has ever undertaken,” said Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault.
Good for you! But why didn’t they do this before ramming their energy “mistake” down everyones’ throat pitting neighbour against neighbour?
The Liberals have caused extensive damage to everyone and our economy, due to their lack of due diligence and cost analysis.
And we all will be paying for it, for decades. A self-inflicted wound, for nothing.
