An OPP manhunt in Minden has ended with the arrest of a suspect.
Haliburton Highlands OPP arrested a man without incident at a residence in the community of Dysart shortly before 4:30 p.m. Thursday – two days after he allegedly assaulted an officer and fled.
On Tuesday afternoon OPP were conducting a traffic stop on South Lake Road just east of Minden when an officer attempted to arrest the man for an unrelated and outstanding criminal matter. The Dysart location was
However, during a brief confrontation the man assaulted the officer and then fled on foot. A search ensued throughout Minden Hills Township.
Creighton Griffin, 27, is charged with resisting a peace officer, possession of a scheduled II substance (cannabis marijuana under 30 grams) and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing in Lindsay on Friday.
