The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had to fire one of its cutest employees, who simply didn’t demonstrate the initiative needed for the very important job.

Lulu’s departure from the prestigious job was announced in a “Pupdate” by the agency Wednesday, who regretfully acknowledged that she just wasn’t meant for sniffing bombs.

“A few weeks into training, Lulu began to show signs that she wasn’t interested in detecting explosive odours.”

They tried offering the black Labrador some work benefits such as treats and extra playtime, but said: “Even when they could motivate her with food and play to search, she was clearly not enjoying herself any longer.”

While she is now unemployed, she does have a loving home. The former explosive-detection K9 was adopted by her handler.

She’s happier now, and able to spend her time doing things she truly loves: playing with kids, hanging out in the backyard and eating snacks.

“We’ll miss Lulu, but this was the right decision for her,” the CIA wrote. “We wish her all the best in her new life.”
