The Hollywood Police Department said Friday on Twitter that the puppy recently named Ollie died at an animal hospital Thursday night from multiple severe injuries.

In a Facebook post, the VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital, which was caring for the dog, said he died “due to the trauma of his injuries.”

“Our team of specialists, emergency doctors and staff worked for over an hour to keep Ollie with us,” the post read. “His body simply could not overcome the inflammation and damage to his body caused by his horrific ordeal.”
