Getting into the playoffs continues to be the main focus this week for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

But you can’t blame the Ticats for thinking about getting some revenge when they host Calgary Friday night.

After the game, listen to The 5th Quarter on AM900 CHML, 900chml.com, or the Radioplayer Canada app. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.

The last time the 4-10 Cats faced the Stampeders, on July 29, Calgary embarrassed Hamilton 60-1 at McMahon Stadium.

The Tiger-Cats are coming off an impressive victory in Winnipeg last weekend while the 12-1-1 Stamps are fresh off their bye week.

Since 2005, Calgary is 15-0 when coming off a bye week and has won 10-straight games against Hamilton.

The Stamps will have league leading rusher Jerome Messam back in the lineup after he sat out Calgary’s last game, a 59-11 home win over the Montreal Alouettes on Sept. 29.

Entering Week 17, the Ticats are five points behind the Ottawa Redblacks for second place in the CFL’s East Division.

Including Friday night’s tilt, Hamilton has four games remaining on its schedule, including an Oct. 27 matchup against the defending Grey Cup champions, while Ottawa has only two.

A Hamilton loss coupled with an Ottawa win in Saskatchewan later on Friday night would eliminate the Ticats from playoff contention.

With a West Division team all but assured of securing a cross-over playoff spot only the top two teams in the East will move on to the post-season.
