A Kingston area couple celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary last Friday at the Helen Henderson Retirement Lodge in Amherstview.
Their big day was September 15th, 1945.
Margaret, now 89, is from Cataraqui while Bill, 93, hails from Sydenham.

Their love story started at a country dance where they wowed the crowd with their two-step and the rest, as they say, is history.
Margaret doesn’t like giving relationship advice but she does know what’s worked for them.
“One day at a time. Do for others as you would have them do for you.”
And maybe the biggest, she says, is don’t go to bed mad.
“If you did, you wouldn’t sleep all night and you’d be mad in the morning. And I don’t want to be mad in the morning.”

As for Bill, he agrees.
“You love them. You get along with them, you try not to disagree with things. You try to agree most time which we do. We do have an argument once in a while, nothing serious, but we do have our differences but we still love one another.”
The marriage has produced three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
It’s also produced over seven decades of love, understanding, and respect.
After 30 years of living in Verona, the couple now calls the Helen Henderson Retirement Lodge home.
