A 32-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with a months long crime spree around Winnipeg starting in August.

Stefan Josef Blab has been charged with robbery, theft under $5,000, break enter and theft, six outstanding arrest warrants, and more.

Officers said on August 11 around 1 a.m. a suspect used bolt cutters to steal two bikes from a basement in the 400 block of Westwood Drive.

Then, on September 5 around 8 p.m. a suspect stole several items from a grocery store on Portage Avenue valued at approximately $200.

On September 16 around 6:15 p.m. a suspect attempted to steal several items from a retail store in the 500 block of Sterling Lyon Parkway. He was stopped by a loss prevention officer, but then showed a device that could shock someone and fled the store.

Officers said the suspect then tried to carjack a woman in her 50’s in an SUV. He was stopped by two people and the loss prevention officer from the store and held until police arrived.

The Major Crimes Until continued with the investigation.
