Amber Alert cancelled after 3-year-old girl who went missing in Alberta is found safe

The RCMP cancelled an Amber Alert shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday night after a three-year-old girl, who police said was abducted in central Alberta on Friday afternoon, was “located safe.”

Police said the girl was found safe and unharmed in a vehicle by Sylvan Lake RCMP but did not provide further details.

The RCMP had issued an Amber Alert about an hour earlier after they said a three-year-old girl was abducted from the Big Horn First Nation in central Alberta.

Police said officers were called to an abduction on the reserve, located about 110 kilometres west of Rocky Mountain House, at around 6 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

“No charges have been laid at this time,” the RCMP said in a news release. “The investigation is ongoing.
