Police investigating stabbing in south-east London

A woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after a stabbing in south-east London.

Police were called to the area of Gore Road and Hamilton Road shortly after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, and upon investigation took a man into custody.

On Wednesday afternoon, police announced charges in the case.

A London man, 33, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The victim and suspect are known to each other and suspect’s name will not be released as it could identify the victim.

The victim suffered several stab wounds but has since been released from hospital.
