New pope analysis
We sit down with UQAM Theology Professor Louis Rousseau to get some insight into the world’s new Pope. Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio from Argentina was elected to lead the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics on Wednesday. Professor Rousseau gives us insight into the significance of the selection of Francis as his papal name, and looks at where the focus of the church may shift under Pope Francis.

We catch up with Town of Mount Royal Mayor Philippe Roy upon his return from Quebec City. Roy and Cote St. Luc mayor Anthony housefather were among the first to present this week in front the commission looking into Bill 14. He explains how they were received in Quebec City, and argues passionately in favour of keeping the bilingual status of his town.
Regarding Disabilities Festival
We tee up a brand new film festival with a difference in Montreal. The “Regarding Disabilities Festival” kicks off Thursday, March 21st and aims to promote awareness of the perspectives, achievements and artistic expressions of people with disabilities. Organizers Thomas Henderson, Director of the Research Centre for the Educational and Professional Inclusion of Students with Disabilities; and Tara Flanagan, Chair of the McGill University Senate Subcommittee on People with Disabilities join us. We meet Montreal author Marie-Claude Giguère to chat about her new book “Stay or Move: How to Talk to a Senior About Their Changing Needs and Retirement Residences”. Giguère has more than 20 years experience working with seniors and brings all her expertise to this manual which won a silver medal book award in the care-giving category.
