CALGARY- One person was killed and another critically injured in a crash during the commute home on Tuesday.
The three-vehicle collision happened around 4 p.m. on 16 Avenue N.W. and Crowchild Trail, near McMahon Stadium.
Police say a car heading eastbound on 16 Avenue crossed the median and hit a blue truck heading westbound. A red truck, also heading westbound, rear ended the other truck, pushing it into a light standard.

A passenger inside the blue truck was killed, while the driver was critically injured. The driver of the car was also injured.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and shut down both directions of 16 Avenue between 19 Street and 29 Street. Parts of Banff Trail and University Drive were also closed.
An investigation is now underway.
