Singin’ in the Rain is one of Hollywood’s all-time great movie musicals but as Lady Gaga learned the hard way, it’s also a great way to become sick.

During her performance on Aug. 28 at Citi Field in NYC, Gaga continued to perform when a heavy rainstorm hit, and now she’s feeling the consequences by being too ill to take the stage for Monday night’s concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre. As a result, the show will be postponed.

On Monday afternoon, Gaga reached out to fans to express her apologies, explaining that she is “unable to perform this show tonight. I sing this entire show live, and pride myself on giving my all, but when I sang in the rain at Citi Field I got sick and am pushing through.”

She added: “I am so sorry to anyone who had their heart set on seeing me tonight. I love you.”

Following Gaga’s news, Live Nation and evenko released a joint statement confirming that “tonight’s Lady Gaga World Tour Concert has been postponed. Hoping not to disappoint her fans, Lady Gaga took today to rest but unfortunately, has been instructed by her doctor that she will need to reschedule this evening’s show due to respiratory infection and laryngitis.”

Fans are instructed to hold onto their existing tickets, as promoters are currently working to reschedule the Montreal performance for a later date.

Gaga is scheduled to perform in Toronto on Sept. 6 and 7 at the Air Canada Centre. At this time, there have been no indications whether these shows will be postponed.
