There is a lot of hockey action in the North Okanagan this week.
About 150 young female hockey players have converged on Vernon’s Wesbild Centre for the four-day Bantam A Provincial Championship, which got underway Sunday.
Vernon is the only Okanagan team competing in the provincial competition. As of Monday night, Vernon had zero wins, two losses and one tie game. Leading the pack right now is the Tri Cities Female.
Tournament chair Dave Fletcher says there are nine teams playing in the competition and most of the players are 13 and 14 year olds.
The tournament wraps up Wednesday with the championship game.
