A Penticton, B.C. swimmer is doing his part to help British Columbia’s medal count at the Canada Summer Games currently underway in Winnipeg.
This week Tyler Wall, 16, has won five medals at the competition including two gold medals in the 4 X 200 m freestyle relay and the 100 m freestyle.
Wall swam the anchor leg for the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay and powered the team to a gold medal. It was his first medal of the games but even then he knew his goal would be to medal again.
“I wasn’t thinking, I was just going for it,” he said.
“One medal is fine for me, but I’m going for more.”
Currently in the medal standings, British Columbia is in third place at the competition behind Ontario and Quebec. Team B.C. has been on the podium 92 times.
