Suspicious death at wedding leads to manslaughter charge in Vancouver’s 10th homicide

A 28-year-old Richmond man is facing a manslaughter charge following an investigation into the death of a man at a wedding celebration in April.

Police originally believed 41-year-old Richmond resident Pardeep ‘Terry’ Dulay died of natural causes at the Fraserview Hall in South Vancouver on April 15.

But after an investigation and collecting evidence at the scene, Vancouver police officers learned the victim had been involved in a physical altercation just prior to his death.

“As part of every investigation, we don’t want to make any assumptions cause we really only have one chance at the readily available information,” VPD Const. Jason Ducette said.

“We call it perishable evidence. So our investigators and our officers collected the information, had met with the families and determined it wasn’t as it had seemed, and he had been involved in a physical altercation just prior to his death.”

Twenty-eight-year-old Aneil Sanghera was arrested on Wednesday and charged with manslaughter.

This Vancouver’s 10th homicide of 2017.
