Two men and a woman were taken to hospital Saturday night after a collision on Highway 97 in West Kelowna.
Two were seriously injured.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Highway 97 south of Elk Road around 10:30.
A northbound blue Pontiac Sunbird collided nearly head on with a southbound grey Subaru Impreza.
“It is believed that the driver of the grey Subaru may have turn left into the path of the oncoming blue Pontiac,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a news release. “Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in this crash, however police have not yet ruled out speed as a possible contributing factor.”
The driver of the Sunbird, a West Kelowna man, sustained what police describe as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The passenger of the Imprezza, a West Kelowna woman, was also seriously injured.
She was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued by the West Kelowna Fire Department.
