Sunny St. Patrick’s Day in Saskatoon turns into a windy and warm weekend!
Saskatoon Forecast
Today
A stunning St. Patrick’s Day in Saskatoon with sunshine galore this morning.
Temperatures were a little cool to start, down to -8 with wind chills as low as -12 to kick off the day, but we managed to warm up above freezing by the noon hour.
Mostly sunny skies will stick around until some high cloud moves in this afternoon as we rise up to a daytime high a few degrees above freezing.
Tonight
Clouds will continue to push in tonight as we drop back a few degrees below freezing.
Saturday
-8 is what it’ll feel like with wind chill Saturday morning under mostly cloudy skies with a chance of freezing rain to start the day as a warm front pushes in.
Mostly cloudy skies will stick around into the afternoon with some sunny breaks possible later on as we rise up to an impressive daytime high of 9 degrees.
A low pressure system build into Alberta will result in strengthened winds that’ll blow at speeds up to 30 to 40 km/h with gusts upwards of 60 km/h, helping to mix in the milder air.
Sunday
The cold front associated with that system that’ll move through and bring snow to the north will then slide through on Sunday, switching winds to be from the west-northwest at 50 km/h with gusts up to 70 km/h at times.
Temperatures will cool down from high single digits toward the freezing mark during the day under a mix of sun and cloud and then below freezing in the evening.
Work Week Outlook
Spring officially kicks off in Saskatchewan on Monday at 4:29 a.m. with a partly to mostly sunny day and temperatures starting off cool, but eventually warming up above freezing by afternoon.
Tuesday is shaping up to start sunny with clouds building in through the middle of the week with daytime highs popping back up into mid-positive single digits to kick off the new season.
