Prairieland Park receives $125,000 in provincial sponsorship

SASKATOON – The Saskatchewan government announced sponsorship funding in the amount of $125,000 for the Prairieland Park Corporation today in Saskatoon.

This funding will be spread out over five years and is nearly 10 times the amount provided in 2007.

Funding will support such agriculture events as the Crop Production Show, Junior Ag Showcase, AG-EXperience, Youth Leadership Conferences, Western Canadian Dairy Expo and the Saskatoon Fall Fair.

“These shows play an important role in raising the profile of our agriculture industry and ensuring Saskatchewan remains a global agriculture leader in the future,” said Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart.

The province says the complex attracts more than 220,000 visitors each year with their shows.

Saskatchewan became Canada’s leading agri-food exporter with more than $10 billion worth of exports in 2011.
