CALGARY- With the start of the New Year, Calgary’s mayor and councillors are in for a pay raise.
Last year, council voted to tie its pay increases to average Alberta weekly earnings. The 3.28 per cent increase means councillors now make over $111,066, up from $107,539 last year.

The mayor will now take home $208, up from $201,939 in 2012.
The increase is calculated from weekly Alberta average earnings from September to September each year.
