Police are investigating after a serious assault took place in the northwest early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to a home on Royal Oak Drive N.W. around 1:45 a.m.

A male in his sixties was found in life-threatening condition and was transported to hospital by EMS. His condition has not improved.
A man in his forties was taken into custody.
The relationship between the offender and the victim is not known at this time.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the homicide unit has been called in to investigate.
