Updated: Man rescued after serious fall on Hollyburn Mountain

A 51-year-old man has been rescued from Hollyburn Mountain after falling yesterday while snowshoeing.

The man was with a group of friends when he fell on the mountain near Cypress Bowl. His friends attempted to help before calling North Shore Rescue around 4 p.m. Saturday.

The man is now in critical condition in hospital with head and jaw injuries.

35 members of North Shore Rescue were involved, which crews described as very long and dangerous. The man was pulled 2,000 feet up by hand. He was rescued around 3 a.m. this morning.
