Boot camp whips Saskatoon dads into shape

SASKATOON – A new program designed to whip new dads into shape has made its way to the Bridge City.

Boot Camp for New Dads helps new fathers deal with the challenges of parenthood.

“It’s a community that’s sort of dedicated to topics of fatherhood an opportunity for dads to learn from experienced dads,” said veteran father Nathan Risling.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Earlier this year, Blair Pisio, a father of two, started the program in Saskatoon.

Rookie dads learn how to care for newborns, their partners and all the essentials of parenting.

Even though the program has only been around for a short time, the results have been just what Pisio had hoped for.

“There’s that added confidence they have just sitting down with their baby. They’re very proud of what they’ve accomplished,” said Pisio.
