Staff confronts man attempting to steal jar of money from a Saskatoon business

A man came up empty handed after attempting to steal a jar of money from a Saskatoon establishment.

Police said it happened just before 3 p.m. CT on Sunday when the man entered the business located in the 1800-block of McOrmond Drive and attempted to take the jar.

He was confronted by staff and a physical altercation ensued. No injuries were reported.

The man fled without the jar and took off in a truck.

Officers located the truck a few minutes later in a nearby parking lot.

Witnesses reported three people running from the truck, which had been reported stolen.

A police dog was unsuccessful in tracking down the suspects.

The man is described as Caucasian, in his 30s, between five-foot eight and five-foot 11 with a thin build, very short brown hair and facial hair. He was wearing a white and yellow t-shirt and dark cargo work pants.

There is no description of the other two suspects, a man and a woman.
