Police are containing a residence in the southwest Calgary neighbourhood of West Springs Friday afternoon.
Officials said white powder was found inside a building in the 0-100 block of Westpark Link S.W., which was searched as part of a larger investigation Friday morning.
“The officers immediately left the building and were examined by EMS to ensure they did not experience any health impacts from the unknown powder,” police said in a statement.
Police and fire officials are on scene as the RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team works on removing and identifying the substance.
Police said there’s no risk to the public and no one was injured in the incident.
No further details were being provided by police as of 4 p.m.
