Kanye, Michelle Obama should run in 2020, says Twitter

Following Hillary Clinton’s defeat Tuesday night, the Democratic Party has four years to come up with a new plan and a new candidate.

Fortunately, social media has some suggestions already.

People took to Twitter on Tuesday and Wednesday, offering up who they thought should run against (presumably) Donald Trump in 2020.

Unsurprisingly, given her many well-received speeches during the campaign, Michelle Obama was a top choice.

But not everyone thought the First Lady was a good choice. Being married to a former president didn’t help Hillary Clinton win, after all, and she spent much of the campaign fighting against the perception that she was one of Washington’s elite.

Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic senator from Massachusetts, is also among those the Twittersphere is considering for a presidential run.

And if the Democrats want to imitate the Republicans and bring a political outsider into the ring, one name stood above all others: Kanye West.

Some thought though that the musician should instead run as vice-president.

If all else fails, there’s always former TV host Jon Stewart (born Jonathan Liebowitz).
