Police say missing Edmonton senior found safe and unharmed

A man has been charged with a 2016 sexual assault of a woman he met online.

Edmonton police say an elderly woman who walked away from her seniors’ residence Tuesday evening has been found safe and unharmed.

Police had asked the public for help finding a 92-year-old woman with dementia after she went missing. She was last seen at around 7 p.m. near Rutherford Road and 111 Street.

Because she had dementia, police said they were concerned for her well-being.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., police said she was found safe and unharmed thanks in part to help from the Air-1 police helicopter.
