Meet Miss Rodeo Canada
Arleta Marcia Bowhay, the second of four children for Jim and Nola Bowhay of Sundre Alberta, was born January 26, 1992. Her arrival brought a sparkle into the family.
A life of strong personal and moral values defines Arleta! She was home schooled which enabled participation in her family’s mixed farming operation and volunteer work for her community. She is an innovative promoter of agriculture values.
Arleta is an accomplished pianist and singer. She attended summer camps for several years. While at Circle Square Ranch she successfully completed the ‘Leaders in Training’ program, ending with her position as camp leader for 5 years. As a volunteer staff member, her leadership responsibilities enabled her to utilize her equine skills to teach riding lessons and the theory of horsemanship. She has also taken up competitive team roping and won the #8 category in the Sundre Super Six Roping last August.
Arleta’s 10 year involvement in 4-H has been an integral part of her personal and professional development. Her commitment to 4-H helped her become a gifted public speaker and win many awards. Her 4-H Club involvement included 10 years in beef and 7 years in horse. In her final year she was a junior leader in the canine project. Arleta held numerous 4-H executive positions including 3 years as Club President for the Bergen 4-H Multi Club.
Arleta’s experience grew, both at the camp and at 4-H. Her confident, warm personality and natural leadership strengths have presented her with many mentorship opportunities.
