The Manitoba RCMP have launched an investigation into the case surrounding two cases of babies switched at birth in Norway House, Man., 41-years-ago.
The two incidents happened at the Norway House Indian Hospital in 1975.
“The RCMP has an obligation to the families involved and to the public to determine if the incidents at the Norway House Indian Hospital were accidental or criminal in nature,” Robert Cyrenne with the Manitoba RCMP said in a media release Friday.

Two men from Garden Hill First Nation first announced last year that DNA tests had proved they were switched at birth at the Norway House Indian Hospital in 1975.
Two other men from Norway House, born at the same hospital in the same year, came forward with the same story in August.

The RCMP investigation is separate from the review currently underway by Health Canada.
Officers are asking anyone who worked at the Norway House Indian Hospital in 1975 or may have any information related to this case to contact their local RCMP detachment.
