A 31-year-old pedestrian from Winnipeg is dead after being hit by a semi-trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway over the weekend.
On Sunday, just before 4 p.m., Portage RCMP responded to a collision between a semi-trailer and a pedestrian in the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada Highway, just east of Highway 13.

The pedestrian from Winnipeg died on scene. The 68-year-old semi driver, from Minnedosa, Man., was not injured.
Both eastbound lanes were closed for several hours.
RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
