Golf cart and tents set on fire at community hall in M.D. of Foothills

Alberta RCMP continue to investigate an incident of arson and theft that happened overnight at Davisburg Community Hall between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said two large tents and a golf cart were lit on fire at 96 Street East in the M.D. of Foothills.

The golf cart and three tents were rented for a fundraiser.

Mounties said the suspects drove the golf cart inside the tent and then set it on fire – destroying two tents.

At this time, the estimated damage of the tents is approximately $15,000. Other items were also stolen from the grounds.
