KINGSTON, Ont. – A woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to get police to gain entry to a family member’s home for her.
Police in Kingston, Ont., say the woman went to the home on Tuesday afternoon to confront a family member about money she believed was owed to her.
It’s alleged that when the person refused to answer the door, she called 911 and told police that a man was abusing a five-year-old child inside the home.
Investigators say officers determined the woman had made the emergency call only for the purpose of getting police to assist her in obtaining the money she felt was owed.
A 26-year-old Kingston woman is charged with public mischief by leading police into a false investigation and three counts of breach of probation.
