Calgary police say they’ve recovered a large amount of stolen property from a piece of property five kilometers northeast of the city.

Officers say the haul is the result of a two-month investigation, which was aided by tips from the public.

Police and RCMP made the discovery while carrying out a search warrant on Tuesday October 2nd.

Officers seized a large quantity of property, estimated to be worth at least $100,000, much of it confirmed to be stolen:

– Approximately 200 lbs. of copper wire, believed to be stolen from a telecommunications provider.
– Three rifles, one confirmed stolen from a Calgary residence.
– One stolen all-terrain vehicle (ATV).
– Two motorcycles, one confirmed stolen.
– Two stolen trucks.
– Various pieces of machinery and electronics.
– One stolen knife.
– A stolen, 24’ utility trailer, containing various items of stolen property.
– Large quantities of stripped telecommunications cable casing, believed to be stolen during previous incidents.
– A small quantity of unknown drugs.
– Two trucks with replaced vehicle identification numbers (VIN).
– A large quantity of ammunition, a cross bow, and a long bow.

56-year-old Rocco Amoruso of Rocky View County was arrested on the property for an outstanding warrant.

Amoruso was charged in 2009 with numerous weapons offences.
