New chief will take reins at Westbank First Nation

WEST KELOWNA – Members of the Westbank First Nation have elected a new chief councillor.

In Thursday’s election, Roxanne Lindley defeated incumbent Robert Louie, receiving 175 votes to Louie’s 141.

Louie had been the chief since 2002.

Lindley is the daughter of the WFN’s first chief.

Other councillors who will be sworn into office next Tuesday are Chris Derickson, Brian Eli, Fernanda Alexander and Thomas Konek.
