A 13-year-old boy is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21.
Two other boys who played a part in the fire were not charged by Saskatoon police because they were under the age of 12.
The Saskatoon Fire Department said the blaze in the area of Avenue P South and 14th Street took about 22 hours to fight and cost the city more than $110,000.
The impacted business did not have insurance to cover the lost inventory, which is reportedly estimated to cost around $400,000.
Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) said it’s not un-common for salvage yards not to have coverage on outside inventory.
