OAKVILLE, Ont. – A 70-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a truck in Oakville, Ont., on Wednesday afternoon.
Halton Regional Police say the woman was crossing Speers Road near Fourth Line just before 3 p.m. when she was struck by a Mack truck.

Police say the driver – a 26-year-old man – remained at the scene and didn’t sustain any injuries.
The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.
