A 20-year-old man faces multiple firearms-related charges after police found more than 200 guns and thousands of bullets while responding to a home security alarm call.
Toronto police were called to a Royal York Road and Bloor Street West area home around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, after the security alarm went off.
Officers entered the home after finding it wasn’t secured, but police said they didn’t find any signs of a break-and-enter.

Upon investigating, officers found evidence guns and ammunition throughout the home and applied for a search warrant, which was executed later in the evening.
Officers then seized the firearms and ammo from the house and charged the man with multiple counts of careless firearm storage.
The man’s identity hasn’t been released, but a Toronto police spokesman said he is a registered firearms licence holder.
He is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Oct. 24.
