A man is in hospital after falling down a hill in a wooded area in Surrey on Thursday.

The elderly man was out walking his dog when he slipped and fell down an embankment onto the creek bed below.

He hit his head and was bleeding badly when emergency crews arrived.

Crews had to cut back trees to safely bring him out of the creek bed, using a basket and ropes to transport him up the hill.

The dog was in good hands as RCMP took care of the animal while its owner was being rescued.

There is no update on the man’s condition at this time.
