Ford Motor Co. announced Thursday it is adding another 1.5 million cars, SUVs and vans to a North American recall over potentially faulty door latches.
The concern is that certain doors can pop open when the vehicle is in operation.
These additional recalls bring the total number of affected vehicles to 2.4 million in North America. According to the automaker over 233,000 of those are in Canada.
Ford said the latest recall includes:
- The 2013-15 Ford C-MAX and Ford Escape;
- The 2012-15 Ford Focus;
- The 2015 Ford Mustang and Lincoln MKC;
- The 2014-16 Ford Transit Connect.
Ford said it is aware of one accident and three reported injuries that may be related to the latch issue.
